TA positions for CPSC 131 Agriculture in Mythology

Department of Crop Sciences

Teaching Assistantship

Description, Responsibilities, and Qualifications

We are looking for teaching assistants (25% appointments) for the 8-week class, Agriculture in Mythology (CPSC 131). The class is offered from 10-17-22 to 12-07-22 in the second half of the semester.  The job of the TA is to evaluate student writing assignments in terms of overall paper organization and logic. CPSC 131 is an online class, thus the TA’s will not need to attend classes.  All work will be done online at the TA’s convenience, but each TA will have grading assignments to complete each week.  It is not necessary to be an agriculture/mythology expert to be a TA for CPSC 131 since training will be provided to all TAs on the basic issues for each writing assignment.

  • All TA's must be on campus and in a Department in the College of ACES.
  • For new TAs (graduate students who have not held a TA appointment before) you must attend the Graduate Academy for College Teaching. (We will register you for this on August 18-19).
  • All international students must have taken and passed the English Proficiency Interview (EPI) prior to being appointed as a TA.
  • Graduate students who are in a self-supporting/tuition paying program are not eligible to be a TA for this class. Only standard MS and PhD student will be considered as TAs.
