Upon the recommendation of the Committee on Commencement and with the support of Interim Chancellor Barbara Wilson, the Graduate College will pilot a campuswide hooding ceremony on Saturday, December 10, 2016. The event will take place from 10:30 a.m. – noon in Foellinger Great Hall in the Krannert Center for the Performing Arts.

Each year, approximately 500 students receive their doctoral degrees in August and December. Offering these doctoral degree recipients the opportunity to participate in a campuswide hooding ceremony in December will help them – along with faculty mentors – celebrate their achievement closer to the time of degree completion. 

The Graduate College is organizing this campuswide event working closely with the Commencement Office. The platform party will include campus leadership. Representatives from each college will be invited participate.  Additional information will be shared with units, faculty, and degree candidates in the coming months.
