Who Qualifies as a Domestic Applicant?
Domestic applicants are citizens or lawful permanent residents of the United States, or have been granted Asylee, Refugee or Paroled in the Public Interest status by the United States government.
Non-citizens residing in the United States who are not on an approved visa and do not need a visa to study may also be classified as Domestic (such as those with DACA status).
Please note: if you have submitted an application, but have not yet been approved for United States Permanent Residency or Asylee status, please see the instructions for international applicants.
Application Fee
- A $70 application fee is required for all domestic applications.
- If you are a University of Illinois employee (Academic Professional, Civil Service, or Faculty only), or a fee waiver recipient (I-Promise Scholar, McNair Scholar, Big Ten Alliance FreeApp) be sure to choose the correct waiver type on your graduate application.
