Career advisers experienced in working with graduate students and postdocs can assist you with career exploration, networking, and the job search process. We advise students on application materials, including résumés, CVs and cover letters.
Scheduling an Appointment
Graduate students enrolled in on-campus programs and postdocs can schedule an appointment with one of our career advisers using the Handshake @ Illinois platform. Current students have had accounts created for them and can navigate directly to the appointment scheduling page (after logging in and, if you have not logged in before, confirming your account) using this button:
After clicking the button, select Graduate College Career Development Office as your appointment category then select the kind of appointment that best meets your needs.
Postdocs should fill out this form to have a Handshake account created for them within 3 days.
NOTE: If you are unable to schedule an appointment using Handshake, you can request an appointment by filling out this form. Please only use this form if you have first tried to schedule an appointment on Handshake using the button above.
Campus Career Services Network
The University of Illinois features a large, diverse, and decentralized career services community called the Career Services Network. Depending on your discipline, you may be able to work with multiple offices.
