Description, Responsibilities, and Qualifications

Description:

This PGA will provide general Counseling Center outreach and prevention programming. The PGA will also assist with general Counseling Center operational needs. The PGA assists in the development and administration of psychological and developmental programming for Black student populations.

Duties:

  • Conduct general outreach and prevention programming for the Counseling Center.
  • Provide regular assistance to general counseling center operational demands.
  • Support members of the International Student Outreach team in the development and administration of outreach programs for International Students.
  • Supervise Counseling Center paraprofessionals working with the International Student Outreach area.
  • Attend bi-weekly meetings of the International Student Outreach Team.
  • Attend bi-weekly supervision meetings with the International Student Outreach Chair.
  • Coordinate general outreach requests related to International Student Outreach.
  • Survey pertinent literature and assist with periodic needs assessment and program evaluation.
  • Create meeting minutes and keep records for the International Student Outreach Team.
  • Develop and coordinate publicity materials for programs.
  • Provide leadership in collaborating with other campus agencies and organizations to enhance outreachprogramming efforts and opportunities.
  • Participate in the supervision of Counseling Center Paraprofessionals (CCPs) in outreach roles and skill-building workshops.
  • Other duties as assigned.
     

Qualifications: 

Graduate student in Clinical Psychology, Community Health, Counseling Psychology, Educational Policy Organization and Leadership, Educational Psychology, Medical Scholars, Nutritional Sciences, Psychology, Social Work, Special Education, Speech and Hearing Sciences, or other approved academic programs that would meet qualifications for a pre-professional experience. Experience with program development and evaluation is desirable. Availability during the Counseling Center’s business hours (Monday, Tuesday, and Friday 8 am to 5 pm; Wednesday and Thursday 8 am to 7 pm). Must also be flexible to work some evenings and weekends. 

There will be a mandatory orientation for this position, which will be held from 9 am to 5 pm; date is TBD but will take place on or after August 16, 2026, and no later than August 21, 2026. 

Compensation

Commensurate with current university policies on graduate student stipends and fee waivers. All applicants will be required to fill out a FAFSA form to assess eligibility for Federal Work Study Assistantships.
