Champaign, Ill. – The University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign welcomed its largest cohort of incoming graduate students to date, with 7,425 new graduate students for fall 2024. This marks an 18% rise in new enrollments compared to the previous year.
The Graduate College at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign has been awarded a $500,000 Creating Equitable Pathways to STEM Graduate Education grant from the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation.
Sixteen University of Illinois graduate students have been named Diversifying Higher Education Faculty in Illinois (DFI) Fellows by the Illinois Board of Higher Education.
DFI Fellowships are dedicated to diversifying the faculty and administration at colleges and universities in Illinois. To that end, fellowships support underrepresented graduate students who intend to teach or become administrators in higher education in the state following graduation.
Graduate Certificates are for students who have completed a bachelor’s degree but are not yet enrolled in a graduate degree program. Certificate credits can be stacked into a master’s program.
