Description, Responsibilities, and Qualifications

We are seeking a part-time student (experienced junior/senior undergraduate or master student) to refine and expand our super-resolution image processing pipeline. This project involves packaging existing MATLAB and C/CUDA-C codes, enhancing the pipeline, taking different formats of input files, and creating a user-friendly interface for batch processing large volumes of super-resolution images. Examples of our current work can be found https://yangliulab.github.io/software.html.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Development: Integrate and streamline our existing super-resolution image reconstruction codes.
  • Interface Design: Develop a user-friendly interface in MATLAB or Python for the entire pipeline.
  • Data Handling: Ensure compatibility with various raw data formats and incorporate pre-processing steps (e.g., background correction).
  • Image Processing: Implement steps for single-molecule localization, drift correction, image rendering, and feature extraction (e.g., clustering).
  • Documentation: Provide clear, comprehensive documentation for each component of the pipeline.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with the original code developers to address any questions or issues.
  • Publication: Prepare the final pipeline for release as open-source software in the public domain.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in developing software packages using Python, MATLAB, and C/C++.
  • Strong foundational knowledge of image processing techniques and statistical classification.
  • Excellent communication skills and a history of productive collaboration.

If you are passionate about developing advanced image processing tools and have a strong technical background, we encourage you to apply for this position.

Compensation

Approximately $32 per hour, depending on the experience.

Application Procedure
