Description, Responsibilities, and Qualifications
During the Fall 2024 semester, LAS FYE Teaching Assistants will assist with LAS 101, Design Your First Year Experience, and LAS 102, Transfer Advantage. LAS 101 is a required 1 credit 1st 8-week 80-minute letter-graded course for first-year students in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences. LAS 102 is a strongly recommended 1-credit, 1st 8-week 80-minute letter-graded course for first-term transfer students in the College of LAS. A major responsibility will be to help train, mentor, and supervise the undergraduate LAS Interns who facilitate the LAS 101/102 sections by teaching a 2-credit, 16-week LAS 399 course that meets weekly on Mondays for 80 minutes.
During the Spring 2025 semester, LAS FYE Teaching Assistants will teach a 1-credit 2nd8-week section of LAS 399 for new and returning interns, in addition to performing various administrative duties, like analyzing student feedback, convening and meeting with the Freshman/Transfer Advisory Councils, revising and designing course content, and assisting in the selection process for LAS Interns and TA’s.
