The Graduate College is pleased to announce the winners of the 2018 Research Live! competition.
Research LIve! is a fun, fast-paced competiton that celebrates the research of graduate students at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Thirteen finalists competed in the public round of Research Live! on Thursday, October 23 at the Krannert Center for the Performing Arts. The winners are:
FIRST PLACE
Tim Yang (Kinesiology) - “On the Road to Self-Driving... Drivers?”
SECOND PLACE
Gabriel Piqué (Music) - “The University of Illinois Saxophone Ensemble: Exploring Old Works in A New Format”
THIRD PLACE
Dhawal Thakare (Mechanical Science & Engineering) - “Self-Healing Coatings: The Future of Smart Materials”
PEOPLE’S CHOICE
Kelly Clary (Social Work) - “Creating Tailored Interventions for Emerging Adults with High Risk Substance Use Behaviors
