The Graduate College is pleased to announce that Penny Ames from the School of Information Sciences is the winner of the 2022 Graduate College Excellence Award for Graduate Contacts.
The Graduate College is proud to announce Derek Attig, the assistant dean for career and professional development, is a Chancellor's Academic Professional Excellence (CAPE) awardee. Attig oversees programming and advising services for over 18,000 graduate students and 600 postdoctoral scholars.
During a ceremony at the Survey Research Laboratory on the Urbana campus, three doctoral students were honored for the quality of their work utilizing survey research methodology. The two winners of the 2017 Robert Ferber and Seymour Sudman Dissertation Awards received $2000 awards and plaques commemorating their achievement. One other student received an honorable mention certificate and $200. Drs.
The Humanities Without Walls (HWW) Consortium has announced its 2016 Pre-Doctoral Fellows, including two University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign graduate students: John Moore from English and Sara Thiel from Theatre. Moore and Thiel, along with 28 other graduate students from the 15 universities that make up the HWW consortium, will participate in a three-week long “alternative academic careers” workshop this summer.
