Postdoctoral Research Associates
Many postdoctoral research associates are eligible for benefits, including health insurance. For more information on who qualifies for benefits, read the section on Benefits Eligibility. Postdoctoral Fellows
Postdoctoral fellows are not eligible for health insurance benefits through the State of Illinois. Fellows may request reimbursement for premiums according to these guidelines.
Dental and Vision Insurance
Postdoctoral Research Associates
Postdoctoral research associates who are eligible for benefits also qualify for the vision and dental insurance programs.

Faculty/Staff Assistance Program
The University of Illinois’ Faculty/Staff Assistance Services offers free, personal, professional, and confidential assistance to faculty, staff, retirees, and members of their household who are experiencing problems that interfere with their personal well-being or their ability to work.
Campus Recreation
All postdoctoral scholars may purchase memberships to use the Campus Rec services, including the Activities and Recreation Center (ARC) and Campus Recreation Center East (CRCE). Postdoctoral fellows are not able to use the payroll deduction and will need to pay Campus Rec directly.
Wellness Center
The Wellness Center provides resources, programs and referrals to support healthy living on topics like nutrition, exercise and financial wellness to faculty, staff and students.
